Overview Video
1. Create a Folder
Click the Create New Folder button . Create a new folder for each batch of cards you are scanning, and name the folder something unique. In general, name the folder so you'll be able to easily find the cards in storage in the future. A common folder name is date-batch number, for example 1-21-2026-3.
2. Add a Scanner
Make sure your scanner is plugged into your computer and powered on. Click the three dots ( ⋯ ). Open Settings. Add Scanner.
Trading Card Scanner should automatically detect your scanner, and you can add it to your scanner list. The application works with most models of auto feed and flatbed scanners. If your scanner is not recognized, see the troubleshooting guide here.
3. Scan Cards
Click on the Scan Images button at the top right, and select the scanner you want to use. Make sure your cards are inserted or placed correctly in the scanner. Auto-feed scanners will scan the front-and-back of the cards simultaneously. For flatbed scanners, you will be prompted to flip the cards in the same place and scan the back sides. You can optionally select "Scan front only." We recommend scanning the front and back of each card.
4. Review Images
Once all cards are scanned, review Scan Results, and click "Complete Scanning". You can rotate or delete images in the grid view. The file names are in numerical order
TCS-00000001-front
TCS-00000002-back
TCS-00000003-front
TCS-00000004-back
etc...
Keep the file names as is. This ensures Card Dealer Pro uploads and IDs each card in the correct order. You can preview see all the images by clicking "Open Folder."
5. Import into Card Dealer Pro
Once you have scanned cards, open Card Dealer Pro and Create a Batch. Select Magic Scan. Add all images in the folder to the batch. The online software will use AI to identify your cards, apply all of the card details, price them, and prepare them to be listed for sale to any supported online marketplace. Using Trading Card Scanner + Card Dealer Pro dramatically accelerates the number of cards you can list and sell online.
